Collection and processing of personal data
As a matter of principle, you can visit our websites without informing us who you are. Our web servers automatically store general information, including the type of web browser, the operating system, the domain name of your Internet Service Provider, the website directing you to us, our websites visited by you and the date(s) and duration of your visit(s). These informations do not enable us to make any kind of conclusion about your identity. We only evaluate the data anonymously and for statistical purposes.
Personal data such as your name, your address, your account-, identity card- or telephone number, your e-mail address or your IP address are inventory data. We only collect, process or use your personal data if provided voluntarily by you and we are furthermore either legally entitled to do so or you have agreed to our use of your data. This typically happens when you conclude an online contract with us (booking) or send us an enquiry (booking enquiry or e-mails).
Use and forwarding of collected data
We exclusively use the personal data provided by you for the communicated or agreed purposes and thus as a general rule to process the contract concluded with you, to answer your enquiry and to send you information about special offers of our house.
If you use our services, as a general rule only data required for the provision of the services are collected. In case we request additional data from you, the provision of this data is voluntary. The processing of personal data exclusively takes place to provide the requested service and to protect our own legitimate business interests.
Are personal data forwarded to third parties?
Your data will not be sold, rented out or in any other way be forwarded to third parties. We would only forward personal data to state institutions and authorities in the context of mandatory national legislation.

The Berliner Hof uses technical and organisational security measures in line with § 9 BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act) in order to protect your data administered by us from accidental or deliberate manipulations, loss and destruction or access by unauthorised parties. We continuously update our security measures in line with technological developments. Access to our security technology is restricted to a very limited number of authorised staff with additional specific obligations towards privacy, who are dealing with the technical, administrative or editorial management of data.
User declaration of consent
By using our websites and the offers stated therein, you agree that we can store the data voluntarily submitted to us and process and use them in compliance with the privacy statement.
Right of access to personal data / Public procedural directory
According to §34 and §6b German Federal Data Protection Act, you have the unrestricted right of information at no charge about all your data stored by us as well as – in line with §35 German Federal Data Protection Act - the right to request the deletion or blocking of inadmissible data and the right to request the correction of incorrect data. On request, we are prepared to send you written information whether we - and if so, which - personal data we have stored about you. As far as possible, we will take the suitable measures to update or correct your data stored with us at short notice. In those cases, please contact our hotel management directly.
In §4g, the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) regulates that information relevant for data protection has to be made available to everybody in a suitable format. In its public procedural directory, the Berliner Hof has provided the corresponding information for reference.

In view of the discussion about the use of analytical tools with complete IP addresses, we would like to point out that this website uses Google Analytics with the advanced "_anonymizeIp()" option and thus IP addresses are only further processed in an abbreviated manner so as to exclude direct reference to people.

Loyalty Program Peakpoints
If you participate in our loyalty program "Peakpoints" World Hotels AG (Main Airport Center,Unterschweinstiege 2-14, 60549 Frankfurt am Main, Germany, "Wordhotels") will use your registration data (your name (first and last name), salutation email address, your home country, language in which you wish to communicate as well as additional information you provided in course
of the registration as for example your date of birth or your telephone number) as well as basic information about your stays collected by participating affiliated hotels (check-in, check-out date and room revenue) to manage your Peakpoints account, send you Peakpoints communication, if you did not object, newsletters from Wordhotels and, if applicable, from the hotel where you registered for
Peakpoints and from other hotels whose newsletter you wish to receive.
Your member profile is stored in a centralized system operated by Wordhotels. Affiliated hotels of the Wordhotels group from all over the world as well as customer service personnel or administrators of the system storing the Peakpoints profiles may be able to access parts of your member profile if
necessary in course of the Peakpoints program or if you grant access by telling your Peak Code.
Worldhotels has set up a comprehensive system of security practices and procedures which has to be respected by any person having access to your member profile.
Your member profile will be deleted if you unregister from the program unless this would infringe statutory retention periods.

Pre- and post-stay communication:
Guests at our hotel will receive pre- and post-stay communication welcoming you at our hotel and informing about the number of Peakpoints you could earn with participation in the Peakpoint program. For this purpose we will use your name, contact data and basic booking data.
If you do not sign up for Peakpoints your data will be deleted one year after collection of the data.
